Retirement Transition Initiative delivered to a second cohort in Coventry

Shaftesbury Partnership’s Retirement Transition Initiative (RTI) was delivered to a second Coventry cohort this weekend as part of a pilot funded by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Jaguar Land Rover. The programme equips people who have recently retired or are about to retire with the information, networks, resilience, and opportunities they need in order to continue purposeful activity post-retirement.

RTI is built around a weekend of information sessions, workshops and activities on a wide range of subjects which are designed to help people prepare for later life, including:

  • post-retirement work and volunteering
  • financial planning and pensions
  • housing
  • relationships and wellbeing
  • health and fitness
  • learning
  • leisure

Our pilot in Coventry is being delivered by Mozaic Innovate. The retirement planning course was piloted with the first Coventry cohort in January, and the feedback from that weekend helped shape the course which was delivered to the second Coventry cohort this weekend. The initiative is proving to be very popular and was over-subscribed, with over 35 people attending.

RTI is also being piloted in Wigan and Southampton. Contact us at to find out more about RTI and how you or your organisation could support us in developing this exciting initiative.
